eventful night?!!
last night kyle and i went to visit matt at the fire station, because kyle had been asking for him a lot ( ok i really wanted to see him too). it was really fun, and we hurried home for dinner. i had let Roxy out in the garage while i got dinner ready. all pretty normal, then i went to let Roxy in and Kyle shut the door behind her. somehow he managed to lock me out of the house. so i am just sitting at the garage door trying to give my 2 1/2 yr old verbal direction to unlock the door. right, that was going to work?!! so i racked my brain of what to do, when i hear him yelling, "i'll be right back", and i hear banging in the playroom, (its right above the garage). i may have thought a few explatives. next thing i know he is back by our backdoor that goes outside. it has a window, so i figured maybe i could show him where to try to unlock the door. no such luck. i was however able to talk to him, and watch Roxy pull parts of dinner off the kitchen counter.it had been about 45 minutes and i then realized i would have to call Matt or the police or something. then i heard the thunder. are you kidding me? i was going to be drenched watching my dog eat our dinner as our son destroyed our home. so, i ran to our neighbors house to ask to use their phone. they didn't have a phone book, and the only number the operator has was 911. great. finally i just went home and started searching my car for anything that might get me into my house. luckily i happened to leave my purse in the car, so i did have my phone after all. i honestly wondered if it would actually be better for me to just camp out in the garage than call matt home from work. he was so nice about it though. he had to have the entire ambulance crew drive him over, so my savior came in an ambulance. he gave kyle a hug, and Roxy ran into the yard where there was a huge pile of mud. i wish i could say that was the end, but i had to go into the disaster zone that was my kitchen. Roxy had eaten a couple tortillas, half a pound of cheese and i am pretty sure the wrapper to something. i was not about to let her stay inside and destroy my carpet with her aftershocks of eating all that stuff, so she went to bed early in her crate. kyle had actually been good. the noises i heard in his playroom were him getting his tools to let me in. it was actually really cute that he had tried to fix it. well, needless to say, we are getting a hide-a-key. i will post new picts soon!!

I am really glad everything worked out for you. Poor thing!! Did it rain at all??
Can't wait to see new pictures!!
Have you picked out any names yet???
Lots of love from Auntie Amber and Uncle Thomas!!
I feel your pain- I don't know how many times I got locked out with kids locked in! Mandy got the girls out of the car yesterday, carried the groceries in, closed the door and then realized it was only her and Emma in the house-she found Sophie outside sitting by the car crying looking for her!
Oh Wow. I would be so scared/frustrated. I locked myself out of my car three times during the first year of my marriage...and every time it got a little harder to call Cole for help. Don't we have the best husbands ever!
I am laughing so hard I am crying thinking about Kyle getting his "worker man" tools to let you into the house. Oh this is a story for your journal. Kyle will laugh when he is older and realized what he did. Hang in there - life only gets more exciting, only most of the time it does not involve the results of cheese eaten by a dog!!!!
Thanks for the laugh! It's nice to hear that other people have frantic days too! Just wait, with one more to the fun we should get some really good stories! You are such a trooper! It's no wonder we always have a blast at your place.
